At Cairns Basketball, our programs are designed to reflect the strength and diversity of our community.
From our Mini Dolphins & Marlins to our Under 8s discovering the joy of the game, to junior and senior competitions, wheelchair basketball, and dynamic school holiday camps – we provide inclusive opportunities for players of all ages and abilities to belong, grow and thrive.
We are committed to building clear participation pathways that support development at every level. Whether you are taking your first shot, refining your skills, competing at an elite level, or staying connected through community sport, our programs foster confidence, leadership and a lifelong connection to basketball. Together, we are creating an environment where everyone has the opportunity to succeed, on and off the court.
Catering to boys & girls aged 4–7. Designed to build confidence, coordination and a love of basketball, the program provides a fun, supportive environment at the Fish Bowl.
Cairns Hoopsnakes have been running the Wheelchair Basketball Program in Cairns for many years with members from all over Far North Queensland attending regularly.
Teams are selected from young basketball players who compete in the Cairns Basketball junior competitions. The players will attend trials from which teams of boys and girls are selected.
Players will be assigned to their team by Cairns Basketball Incorporated and the captain will be selected as the team manager and be the primary contact for all team communication.
Is your young one wanting to start their basketball journey. Join one of the basketball teams. Competitions are available for all age groups from under 10s all the way to under 19 years of age.
Whether you’re just starting out or pushing for elite performance, our school camps are designed to elevate your play. Join us on the court and make this holiday one to remember!
